Description

Students study Native American world views as they are expressed in the philosophy, beliefs, and values of the people. Because Native Americans had no written language, this course emphasizes traditional teachings as they are conveyed orally by elders. Specifically, the course focuses on teachings found in natural phenomena and in the various sacred articles given to the people as gifts from the spirit world. Prerequisite: Any NAS couse or Junior standing
