Description

Students investigate a variety of historical and contemporary perspectives on gender and sexuality in indigenous North American borderlands in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This course looks at the multiple definitions of “borderlands†and “bordersâ€, while examining both the development of present-day North American borders and the changing role of borders in politics from the 19th to 21st centuries. Prerequisite: Any NAS course or Junior standing
