Description

Students study a variety of texts by Indigenous women writers (including fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and drama), examining both the literary accomplishments of these writers and how they represent issues pertaining to gender and Indigenous identity. Students familiarize themselves with prominent writers as well as emerging voices, developing interpretations of literary texts using concepts from literary theory and Native American and Indigenous studies. Prerequisite: any NAS course or Junior standing
