Full Title: Wildlife Handling & Chemical Immobilization

Students will be trained in wildlife handling and chemical immobilization of large carnivores (e.g., wolves or cougars). Students will gain hands-on experience chemically immobilizing wildlife, including: determining proper dosages, administering chemicals, and monitoring, handling, and measuring immobilized wildlife. At the completion of this course, students will receive certification. Class occurs over the course of one weekend (Friday-Sunday) during the May term. Travel and sleeping in rustic conditions or camping are required. Course fee $1100 Prerequisite: BIO 234 and NRS or BIO major.
