Description

Students learn skills, systems, and practices for living safely, comfortably, and as a productive member of a small-group living/learning community in the backcountry for extended periods of time. Course topics include equipment and clothing selection and use; ration planning, packing, and outdoor cooking; low impact camping and travel techniques; and outdoor health and sanitation. Course consists of classroom sessions during the winter semester with a 5 day field experience facilitated over spring break. Course fee $225
