Description
Students take the hard (belay systems, operational guidelines and protocol) and soft (sequencing, processing, transference) skills learned in the prerequisite OED 104 Adventure Theory course, and apply them in a supervised context. Practicum students also apply their skills outside of the ???challenge course??? context with hands on application in a rock climbing setting, learning top and bottom rope management, anchor methods and processing of the rock climbing experience. Students who successfully complete the course are prepared to facilitate adventure education in elementary and secondary settings, to facilitate adventure programming, and to work toward top rope management and ACCT certification. Prerequisite: OED 104
