Description
Students study how physiological processes as well as cognitive and behavioral states are impacted by ?true wilderness.? An interdisciplinary course, psychology in the wilderness borrows from medical science, sports medicine, extreme sports physiology, psychobiology, ecopsychology, and anthropology, to asses both efficient and dysfunctional adaptations to a variety of geographical and climatic conditions. Specifically, it addresses the psychology of adapting to our Lake Superior geography and climate. Course Fee. Prerequisite: PSY 231; NAS 225; OED 240 and/or OED 346
