Fur-Bearer Ecology & Management (NRS 101)

Description

This hands-on learning experience with educators from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Trappers’ Association addresses fur-bearer trapping and management in Wisconsin. Students learn about trapping, skinning, and processing pelts as well as how to identify Wisconsin fur bearers, their ecology, and best management practices. Additionally, students engage in dialogue with trappers, biologists, and conservation wardens about the merits and ethics of trapping. Course fee $35
