Description

This workshop is designed as an introductory experience for someone who has never gone fishing. We will travel to the marina in Ashland to try our hand at fishing from shore. While there, we will learn the following skills: casting, baiting your own hook (note: we will be using live minnows and worms), reeling fish in (hopefully we catch some!) and how to properly remove hooks and release fish. We will also discuss the different fishing techniques used for different species of fish while also trying out a variety of artificial lures. All of the necessary fishing equipment will be supplied! Please note: Students without a Wisconsin fishing license will need to purchase a one-day license for the date of this class. The cost of the license is $8 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Covers the ecological Wellness dimension.
