Description
Do you want to explore the Bay area beyond what you find on campus or in Ashland? This workshop is for you! All 6 sessions will involve an off-campus field trip to areas like Bad River, Madeline Island, Les Voigt State Fish Hatchery, orchards around Bayfield, tribal parks, Bayfield school powwow, Houghton Falls, local theaters, the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center complex, and 2 of the best icre cream shops around. You will learn about tribal natural resources and management, area history, recreational and entertainment opportunities, career and job possibilities, and the cultural ties between Northland College and surrounding communities. YOU MUST ATTEND ALL COURSE SESSIONS IN ORDER TO PASS THIS CLASS. $40 course fee covers additional costs of the class, such as admission. Covers the social, ecological, and vocational Wellness dimensions.
